Boxing Equipment for kids

Anyone can learn how to box that includes kids. If you ever wonder how old can kids start boxing, I wrote on my earlier post here. In this post we are going to find out the different kind boxing equipment for kids.

Kids Boxing Equipment

Boxing Gloves

For kids boxing gloves, you still want to get quality gloves. Here is how to choose boxing gloves. Brands – Ringside, Everlast, Venum, Wesing. Sizes range from 6oz to 10oz.

Handwraps

I recommend to always use hand wraps before putting on gloves and here is why. What is this piece of equipment for? Hand wraps help protect a child’s hands and wrists by providing additional support under the gloves. They help to absorb sweat too.

Mouthguard

A mouthguard is crucial for protecting a child’s teeth and mouth from impact. Make sure to get a mouthguard that fits properly and provides adequate protection. This may not be something a beginner may need unless they are competing. For beginner you can skip not getting a mouthguard.

Skipping Rope

Skipping rope is a fantastic cardio workout and helps improve footwork and coordination. Look for lightweight ropes with adjustable lengths. Skipping rope is one of my essential for my warm up. If not shadowboxing

Apparel

Comfortable workout clothes, including shorts and a breathable shirt, are essential for training. Make sure your child wears proper athletic shoes with good support.

Boxing Shoe

While not always necessary for beginners, boxing shoes can provide better grip and ankle support during training and sparring. I realise running shoe has thick cushion and it harder to move around when I am boxing.

Always ensure that the equipment fits properly and is appropriate for your child’s age, size, and skill level. Additionally, proper supervision and instruction are essential to ensure your child’s safety during boxing training.
